Please tell us your impression of the following statements
Jesus taught that there are conditions that must be met by those who would inherit the promised land and the earth made new. (Matthew 5:5; 18:13; Luke 18:17)
Many protestants believe that the present day restoration of Israel is the fulfillment of the many prophecies (Genesis 15:7; 12:7; 26:4) that promised the land of Canaan to Abraham and his offspring. However, the teachings of Jesus reveal that it ultimately will only belong to those who, like Abraham, have a faith in God that leads to obedience (Romans 4:3; Genesis 26:5; 18:9; Matthew 7:21; Luke 6:46; Philippians 4:13).
Jesus taught that what is in the heart cannot be hid, it will come out in words and deeds (Luke 6:44, 45; John 8:44).
Just as the "low oil" light is only an indicator, not the problem, our actions indicate who has our heart. This is why true Christians ask Christ every day for a new heart, and receive the gift of repentance, a daily dying to self and a born again experience. (Ezekiel 11:19; Luke 11:13; Luke 9:23; 1 Corinthians 15:31; John 3:3)
Orthodox Jews do not see the present state of Israel as a fulfillment of prophecy since it is a mostly secular state. There are also two Biblical reasons it cannot be. First, Jesus taught that His people "follow" or obey Him. The second is Abraham has not received the promise yet since he is still awaiting the resurrection and the recreation of the earth to its edenic state (John 10:27; Hebrews 11:9, 13, 10; John 11:24, 25; 2 Peter 3:13; Isaiah 65:17; Revelation 21:5).
When the earth is recreated and God moves His throne and the New Jerusalem to it, all who have faith and believe in Christ will inherit Israel. (Revelation 21:1-3, 28; Galatians 3:29)
I would like to be part of God's recreated new earth, and I'm choosing to ask Jesus to give me a loving and obedient heart each day making him Lord of my life.
